Die Europäische Gesellschaft für Ethnopharmakologie (Société Européenne d’Ethnopharmacologie, Strasbourg) lädt ein, an ihrem 6. Europäischen Kolloquium Ethnopharmakologie (seit 1990) in Leipzig vom 8.-10. Nov. 2007 unter dem Titel „Neue Trends in Ethnobotanik und Ethnopharmakologie“ ausgewählte Themen zu diskutieren, die weniger häufig im Mittelpunkt der Diskurse stehen. Das Kolloquium ist eine Gemeinschaftsveranstaltung mit der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Ethnomedizin e.V. (AGEM), die dieses zugleich als ihre 20. Fachkonferenz Ethnomedizin (seit 1973) organisiert.

Die angesprochenen Themen sind für Botaniker und Pharmakologen aber auch für Kulturwissenschaftler, besonders Medizinethnologen, bedeutungsvoller denn je. Die Erhaltung der biologischen Artenvielfalt, die Bewahrung traditionellen lokalen Wissens, die Förderung von medizinischen Traditionen speziell im Rahmen einer globalen Basisgesundheitspflege und das Programm, wissenschaftliche Untersuchungsergebnisse dazu auch wieder zurück in die Ursprungsbereiche fließen zu lassen, sowie die ethische Reflektion heutiger Forschungsdesigns ist Grundlage all der Forscher geworden, die sich im überschneidungsbereich von Kultur-, Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften bewegen. So stellt jede ethnopharmakologische Forschung heute eine multidisziplinäre Anstrengung dar. „Ethnopharmakologen“ sind insbesondere mit den Rechten von lokalen Bevölkerungen konfrontiert, die ihre eigenen Ressourcen selbst nutzen und weiter entwickeln wollen und mit den Ansprüchen der souveränen Staaten auf diese Ressourcen. Das sich daraus ergebene Konfliktpotential soll auch Thema der Konferenz werden.

The European Society of Ethnopharmacology invites to her 6th European Colloquium (since 1990) together with the German Arbeitsgemeinschaft Ethnomedizin (AGEM), which is organising this Colloquium within her 20th conference (since 1973) to come to Leipzig on 8 – 10th november 2007 to discuss these questions by a selection of topics which are not so often in discussion.

The conservation of biodiversity today, the preservation of local knowledge, the promotion of indigenous medical systems specially in global primary health care, and “results bringing back to the field” and the ethical reflection of today’s research have become a program to all scientists working at the interface of social and cultural studies, and the natural sciences. Every ethnopharmacological research depends on multidisciplinary efforts today. So “ethnopharmacologists” are particularly concerned with local people’s rights to further use and develop their autochthonous resources, recognizing the sovereign rights of States over their natural resources. This has become of special importance to all ethnobotanists and ethnopharmacologists.

La Société Européenne d'Ethnopharmacologie de Strasbourg organise son 6ème Colloque Européen (depuis 1990) à Leipzig du 8 au 10 Novembre 2007, sur le thème «&xnbsp;L’ethnobotanique et l’ethnopharmacologie&xnbsp;: de nouvelles pespectives&xnbsp;», et comportant des discussions sur des sujets peu abordés. Ce Colloque se fait en collaboration avec la Arbeitsgemeinschaft Ethnomedizin (AGEM) qui organise dans le même temps sa 20ème conférence d'Ethnomédecine (depuis 1973).
Les thèmes abordés sont de la plus haute importance pour les botanistes, les pharmacologues et les scientifiques de recherches sur la culture. La protection des diverses variétés biologiques, la préservation du savoir traditionnel local, la promotion de traditions médicales dans le cadre d'un programme sanitaire global et, en parallèle, la mise à profit sur le terrain du résultat de ces recherches scientifiques, ainsi qu'une réflexion éthique sur le concept du mode de recherche, constituent les bases de travail de tous les scientifiques exercant en interférence dans les domaines, culturels, sociaux et sciences naturelles.
Aujourd'hui, toute recherche ethnopharmacologique représente un effort multidisciplinaire.
Les Ethnopharmacologues sont tout particulièrement confrontés, d'une part, au Droit des populations locales, qui souhaitent exploiter et développer leurs propres ressources, et d'autre part, aux prétentions des Etats souverains quant à ces ressources. Le risque de conflits politiques qui peuvent en découler fera également l'objet d'une discussion lors de cette conférence.
